Q: When does the Book Club begin and end? A: The first group meeting begins during the week of February 14 and we will conclude by April 3.
Q: Do we meet in person or by Zoom? A: Each Discussion Group will decide how to gather (e.g., by Zoom, in person, or by phone), but we expect that typically the Discussion Group will meet on Zoom.
Q: How are the meetings organized (e.g., large group meeting, small discussion groups)? A: All meetings are small Discussion Group meetings led by several Facilitators from the different churches. The Facilitators will help keep Discussion Group members informed of meeting times, discussion topics, and answer Participant questions.
Q: How many people are in each Discussion Group, and who will be in the group? A: Discussions Groups include 6 to 12 people and are led by several Facilitators from the different churches. Q: How long is each meeting? A: The group decides how long the weekly meeting is. The suggested meeting length is 75 to 90 min. Q: How do I register and get assigned to a Discussion Group? A: You might have told your pastor that you want to participate and which Facilitator’s group you want to be assigned to. If so, you have been registered and assigned as requested. If you register through the website, let us know if there is a Facilitator whose group you would like to be in and/or your meeting date/time preference. We will try to accommodate such requests as best as we can. Generally, we are building the Discussion Groups so that there are members from each of the four churches in each Discussion Group. We appreciate your patience with the process.
Q: How do I know which Discussion Group I am assigned to and the date/time of the first meeting? A: Once you are registered and assigned to a Discussion Group, you will get an email telling you which group you are assigned to, the date and time of the first meeting, and the Zoom link to use. The initial Discussion Group assignment emails will be sent on Sept. 16 with the names of the Facilitators, some of the Participants, and date/time of the first meeting. At the first meeting, the group will decide the best weekly meeting time. Q: How many times do we meet and when do we meet? A: There are eight meetings, one per week. The group will decide the most convenient time to meet. If the meeting time does not work for a participant, the participant can join a different group.
Q: How much prep time is expected before each Discussion Group meeting? A: At least 45 minutes. With Justice For All is 19 chapters. Each week we will cover 3 to 4 chapters. On the website, we have included an Outline of the book and the primary scriptures for each chapter. We hope that you will read and meditate on the primary scriptures and read the assigned chapters. We hope that you will pray before you read and ask the Spirit to think through your mind and speak to your heart and that you will take time to meditate on the Scripture passages. Q: What should I do if I can’t make every meeting? A: Good question! We hope you will be able to arrange your schedule so that you can participate in each of the meetings. Faithful participation is important! We understand that some participants will have unavoidable conflicts and won’t be able to make every meeting. Tell your facilitators when you have a conflict and won’t be present or will be late to the meeting. If you have lots of conflicts that will prevent your participation, we may be able to assign you to a new group. Q: Other Questions?
